Tasmota
Overview
Tasmota is an alternative open-source firmware for ESP8266 and ESP32-based devices that provides easy configuration through a web UI, over-the-air (OTA) updates, powerful automation via timers and rules, and entirely local control over MQTT, HTTP, Serial, or KNX. Originally created to replace the proprietary firmware on Sonoff devices, Tasmota has grown into a massive ecosystem supporting thousands of different smart home devices including switches, dimmers, sensors, thermostats, covers, and lighting controllers. With a large community-contributed template repository, nearly any ESP-based smart device can be reflashed with Tasmota for full local control.
