Piwigo is a mature, open-source photo gallery and digital asset management (DAM) platform under continuous development for more than 20 years. It lets you manage, organise, search and share photos and videos from one place, self-hosted on your own server or via the Piwigo Cloud service. Built around albums, tags and metadata, Piwigo scales from a personal library to a large organisational media collection, with no vendor lock-in — you can export your photos, videos and metadata at any time.

Key Features

• Albums, tags & metadata — Organise media with albums, sub-albums, tags and metadata; your structure can evolve as your library grows
• Powerful search — Find files in seconds by tags, metadata and file properties, with filters and date/location browsing
• User management — Granular user groups, private galleries and permission controls determine who sees what
• Themes & plugins — Hundreds of themes and plugins extend functionality, and custom code is fully supported
• REST API — A complete API enables advanced use cases and third-party integrations
• Photos, videos & documents — Upload from computer, mobile apps or synchronised folders, and import in bulk
• Data sovereignty — Export everything at any time; switch between self-hosting and cloud freely
• Multi-platform — Web-based, with mobile apps and desktop tools; developed and hosted in Europe
