AGPL-3.0🖥️ Self-hostable

Fider

Fider

Overview

Fider is an open-source feedback portal: your users post ideas, everyone votes on them, and you publish what is planned, in progress and shipped. It replaces the scatter of forum threads and support tickets that feature requests usually end up in with a single public board you control — and, unlike hosted feedback SaaS, you can run it yourself so the conversation stays on your infrastructure.

Key Features

  • Public idea boards where visitors submit and upvote suggestions
  • Sorting by trending, recent, most wanted and most discussed
  • Filtering by tag and status, plus full-text search
  • Status workflow — planned, started, completed and declined, with an optional public roadmap
  • Tags to group requests and direct them to the right team
  • Subscribers and notifications so requesters hear back when their idea moves
  • Moderation tools — editing, merging and closing duplicate posts
  • Sign-in via email, Google, GitHub, Facebook or a generic OAuth2 provider
  • Custom branding, custom domain (CNAME) and a REST API
  • Single-binary Go application backed by PostgreSQL, deployable with Docker

Why Use Fider?

Feedback only counts if people can see it being acted on. Fider makes the loop public and legible, and because it is AGPL-licensed and self-hostable you are not handing your roadmap or your users’ data to a third party. It is lightweight enough to run on the same server as the product it serves.

Use Cases

  • Feature request boards for open-source projects and SaaS products
  • Public roadmaps that show customers what is coming
  • Internal idea collection from staff
  • Community suggestion boxes for public-interest projects

Platform & Requirements

Self-hosted Go web application with PostgreSQL; an official Docker image and Compose recipe are provided. A paid managed hosting option is also offered by the project.

Licence

Open source — GNU Affero General Public License v3.0.
