Overview
GNOME Evolution is the official personal information manager for the GNOME desktop environment. Formerly known as Novell Evolution and Ximian Evolution, it has been an integral part of GNOME since version 2.8 in September 2004. Evolution combines email, address book, calendar, task list, and note-taking features in a single application with a user interface similar to Microsoft Outlook. It supports POP3, IMAP, and SMTP protocols for email, along with Exchange, GroupWise, and Kolab connectivity via plugins.
