Kakoune is a modal code editor built around a “multiple selections” paradigm. Whereas most editors select text only as a side effect of an action, Kakoune makes the selection the primary editing object — you select first, then act, and actions apply to every selection at once. The result is a concise, composable editing grammar with powerful multi-cursor editing, all in a fast, scriptable terminal editor written in C++.
