Decentraleyes

Decentraleyes

Decentraleyes is a browser extension that emulates Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) locally by injecting commonly used web libraries (jQuery, AngularJS, Bootstrap, Font Awesome, etc.) directly from your computer rather than fetching them from third-party CDN servers. This prevents CDNs from tracking your browsing activity while also improving page load times and enabling offline access.

Key Features

  • Local CDN emulation — Serves popular libraries from local storage instead of remote CDNs
  • Privacy protection — Prevents CDN providers from seeing which sites you visit
  • Offline support — Pages using matched libraries load without internet access
  • Performance improvement — Eliminates DNS lookups and network requests for CDN resources
  • No configuration needed — Works automatically with a regularly updated resource catalogue
  • Integrated with uMatrix and uBlock Origin — Local fallback when CDN domains are blocked

Why Use It

Many websites load JavaScript libraries from Google, Cloudflare, and other CDN providers — giving those providers a record of every page visit that includes their libraries. Decentraleyes eliminates this tracking vector without breaking any website functionality.

Use Cases

  • CDN tracking prevention — Stop Google, Cloudflare, and others from seeing your browsing habits
  • Offline browsing — Access cached pages without needing CDN downloads
  • Privacy improvements — Combine with uBlock Origin for comprehensive content blocking
