SchildiChat

SchildiChat

SchildiChat is a family of Matrix instant messengers built as enhanced forks of the Element clients. It keeps the full Matrix feature set while adding extra privacy and usability improvements — such as the option to store and send chat history without cryptographic ratcheting, better notifications control, and a cleaner, more customisable interface. It is fully interoperable with the Matrix network and other clients such as Element.

Key Features

  • Element-compatible: a fork of Element that stays current with upstream Matrix features
  • End-to-end encryption: full Matrix E2EE with additional history retention options
  • Self-host friendly: easy to point at your own homeserver
  • Customisable UI: homeserver, Spaces and appearance refinements over stock Element
  • Multi-platform: Android, Web and Desktop clients in one family

Why Use SchildiChat?
